The excerpt:

Sunday, April 6
In the past, we've chronicled the growing opportunities for female DJs in D.C. While the city's turntables are still primarily worked by men, the First Ladies DJ Collective has been taking every opportunity to shift that balance. You can now catch one of the collective's principal members, Christine Moritz, at Gazuza every Sunday. From 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., selector Moritz spins downtempo, funky breakbeat and "happy charm fool dance music" (a style of Japanese pop of which she is fond).

(Note: Due to philosophical differences, Christine chose to leave the First Ladies DJ Collective as of July 2003.)
