Christine Moritz was mentioned
in the June 17, 2004 edition of "Nightlife Agenda: This Week in Nightlife,"
a feature in which Washingtonpost.com's Fritz Hahn and Rhome Anderson
share their entertainment recommendations for the week.
The excerpt:
Friday, June 18
After weeks of delays, the popular outdoor nightclub Air opens
for the summer this evening. Held in the large, stately courtyard at the
Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Air's adding a
new indoor component this year, in the shape of Aria -- an Italian trattoria
that replaces jordan's. There will still be dancing under the stars and
food served until 2 a.m.; but the music format has changed to "a mixture
of retro, hip-hop and house," according to promoter Howard Kitrosser.
We're still expecting a huge ready-to-party crowd to show up, dance, and
see and been seen. Tonight's selectors: DJ Enferno, winner of the
prestigious national DMC DJ competition last year and runner-up at the
World Championships, and Christine Moritz, recently of Eighteenth
Street Lounge. Admission is $10 if you register at www.airclubdc.com and
arrive between 9 and 11; $15 for everyone else. Remember: Because this
is a federal building, you have to pass through security, including a
metal detector. Allow plenty of time to get in.
